Outside of the busy-ness of berry season, the berry patch is a peaceful, picturesque place all year through.
Though the blueberries are the star of the show, the patch is a veritable canvas throughout the seasons…
Amid their winter slumber, dormant bushes are painstakingly pruned. They awaken with spring buds which become fragile fragrant blooms, then gorgeous green berries that finally burst into blue.
Months in the making, harvest season ends in the blink of an eye, and the bushes begin the cycle all over again.

Though it takes many months for the berries to mature, the harvest lasts only a matter of weeks. By August, much of the crop has been picked or pecked – the birds and deer ensure no fruit goes to waste. Autumn gives the bushes a rich, red hue which lasts through winter, in warm contrast to the blanket of snow.
