Since so many of our customers last year brought their kids, we thought it would be fun to make a special day for families with a few extra things to do.

Limited parking available on the grass through the farm drive. Ample parking along Centre Street (across from the Fenwick Market location)

Bring hats, water bottles. Close-toed shoes recommended. No washroom facilities on site; no pets please.

Because we care about families (we’ve got kids too!) and the environment, we decided to give Family Day a pollinators theme, and include a fundraiser for Comfy Cases.

Comfy Case volunteers in Pelham sew fun, colourful pillowcases for children in Niagara hospitals with cancer or other life challenging illnesses. Help us bring moments of comfort, colour and cheer to local kids!

Sales of butterfly keychains/fobs at Family Day will go towards the purchase more material to make more cases. Donations of 100% cotton fabric are welcome, as are cash donations. If you would like a tax receipt, please donate online here.

As for pollinators, we wouldn’t have blueberries to enjoy if it wasn’t for bees and bugs. We’ve teamed up with the David Suzuki Foundation – Butterflyway to encourage families to set up a pollinator garden at their own home, even if it’s only on a balcony or front porch.

We’ll be selling 4-packs of plants for $5 each to help you get started with your own butterfly-friendly garden. $1 from every pack will go to Comfy Cases.

Family Day activities:

Family Day is free to attend, with kids activities along with items for purchase:

• pick your own all-natural blueberries $5/pint
• browse the books/kids toys tables (starting at $1/ea)
• native-Ontario, locally grown pollinator packs, $5/each (limited supply)
• locally grown garden plants, including several native species (starting at $1/ea)

For the kids:

• planting station – your very own milkweed seed to pot/take home
• butterfly craft
• butterfly photo backdrop for Mom & Dad’s Insta fix
• kids cornhole toss, disc golf, and other games on the grass
• bubble station, because everyone loves bubbles
