Looking out over the winter patch, it is hard to believe these snow-covered bushes will be dripping with tasty all-natural blueberries in just a few months.

We noticed a trend in 2022, our third season running our little U-Pick operation – ALL our pickers came with kids!
And why not? Berry picking is a great way to spend quality time outdoors, gathering tasty healthy fruit and having fun together. So, we’re planning some new elements to expand that family fun. Stay tuned for details!
Nurturing nature
Though the blueberry patch was already on the property when we bought it in 2019, we’ve taken great pride in applying organic principles since. We’ve also introduced native Ontario species to bring beauty and biodiversity to the surrounding orchard, woodland and waterway.
While they are still too young to fruit, we’re thrilled to cultivate these native Carolinian plants for future enjoyment: pawpaw, wild plum, black raspberry, serviceberry, chokeberry, elderberry, nannyberry (yes, it seems we really do have a thing for berries!)
Bring on the pollinators!
Growing fruit wouldn’t be possible without pollinators. In addition to ensuring a plentiful crop, providing for pollinators is the latest environmental action, and to be honest, it’s become a bit of a passion project.

We believe we have a responsibility to give more than we take, to be responsible stewards in support of Mother Nature. So, in addition to planting native wildflowers and trees to enhance biodiversity on our property, we hope to also offer native seedlings or pollinator packs so you too can create a haven for bees and butterflies at your own home.
Let’s grow together in 2023!
